Another successful fasting day completed. Only 36 hours this time. Did feel a little spaced out when I first got up but that soon passed. Unfortunately my weight didn’t entirely lose what I was up yesterday, but that is just the nature of the beast
Got some very good news yesterday. My brother, who was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer a few years back, got the results of his most recent biopsies. Of the 10 sites checked there was no sign of Cancer. Since his TURP op, in 2014, all biopsies have been clear. He is now just in a monitoring situation.

I have been weighing myself and recording the result daily, since last April, and it never ceases to amaze me how much my weight can change on a daily basis. This morning I am up 5 lb from yesterday. Okay, yesterday’s weigh in was on the back of a fasting day and today’s was after a day eating normally, but I doubt the foodstuffs I consumed weighed 5 lb in total. Obviously water retention plays a huge part in it. I did consume a lot of Carbs, in the early part of the day, but it was in the form of Bran Flakes for breakfast and Low GI bread and soup at lunch time, so I wasn’t too worried about it. My daily ablutions have been normal so that doesn’t seem to be a factor. The point I am making is, for people that normally weigh in once a week, then on an odd occasion weigh a second time, don’t be surprised at what you see. It could just be an “up” day.
Fasting again today. I had a multivitamin first thing and I will take a rehydration tablet later in the day. I don’t know why they call them “rehydration” as it is the salts they give you and not the water.
The hungriest I feel, on a fasting day, is just after I wake up. It must be a mental anticipation thing, as I don’t normally feel hungry early doors. In fact, I have gone through a huge part of my life not eating breakfast.
Here’s hoping everyone has a safe and pleasant day. Happy dieting.

Another fasting day completed. Yesterday was dead easy, despite it being a freezing cold day. I had a couple of my rehydration tablets (makes for a pleasant, lemon drink), so my salt level should have been fine.
Broke my fast, about 6am this morning, with Bran Flakes liberally sprinkled with cashew nuts and blueberries, then topped with a good measure of double cream. I also took my Apple Cider Vinegar tablet. That will see me through till lunch time, about noon.
It is another cold frosty morning here and the house is bitterly cold. We have a rather old and inefficient heating system of storage radiators (nothing upstairs), draughty single glazed windows and no wall insulation. We got the chance of cavity wall insulation a couple of years back, but when they carried out a survey they found the construction of the building didn’t allow it. It appears to be some sort of single block construction, with a thin layer of insulation stuck on the outside. Very poor at keeping the heat in. I just layer up with clothes, keep busy, and think of all the calories my body is using trying to keep warm. At least I only rent. It is not as if I own the flat.

Another fasting day. I find that the hungriest I feel on fasting days is when I first wake up.
I have decided not to log my foods while I am doing the Intermittent Fasting. I am trying to avoid sugar and starch, I don’t drink diet soda and I am eating reasonable portions of the food I fancy. I may return to logging a food diary if I feel the need, once I see how things go.
It is a lovely frosty clear morning, so I am off to Lidl for some fresh croissants for Mrs T’s breakfast. I will get some more double cream for my morning coffee.
We have a dancing lesson this afternoon, so I look forward to that.
Have a great Sunday.

Well that is the first two day fast completed and I think it went quite well. I say think, because I was quite hungry yesterday evening, then I had an episode during the night which was upsetting. I had got up to the toilet at 1am, and while standing there, I began to feel dizzy and almost passed out. I dropped the small lamp I use (bathroom light destroys my night vision), and came to, leaning against the wall. I have had occasions like this previous to fasting. Usually far milder. It seems to be brought on by standing up too quickly. I got back into bed and eventually got back to sleep. In the morning I told my wife, who said it was probably low sugar or salt levels (she is very sceptical about fasting), but I had taken nothing to address that, and now I was fine. I had a cup of tea and a mint chocolate biscuit to appease her. I know it cannot be low sugar, but I might consider salt replacement tablets for the future.
