22 February 2017
Another terrible night with my Fitbit recording only 4 hour sleep between 9:30pm to 6am. Once again I got some good reading done. I did manage my first bowel movement since the surgery but not a great deal. My urine flow is extremely slow and erratic, even for me.
This morning I am really quite woozy but that could just be the lack of sleep, compounded by Tramadol.
Pain is not too bad, with the medication, and I am getting around the house fairly well. Just spotted another three wounds (hadn’t even spotted the tiny plasters), where I was given 3 shots of local anaesthetic, prior to being moved to recovery. Appetite disappeared after lunch yesterday, and still hasn’t returned.

Didn’t get a great night’s sleep, mainly due to only being able to sleep on my back. That, and the fact I have chronic wind after being “pumped up” with gas, for the surgery. One of the three wounds was bleeding in the night, but not too badly. I did get plenty of my current book read!
This morning I feel weak as a kitten, but I have an appetite and I am managing to get about not too badly. I am taking Co-codamol, and this morning I also took two Tramadol (they can be taken together).
Mr Bennett, my surgeon, says I don’t have to wait too long before I can drive again. Next week, he said, I can sit in the car and see if I can mimic an emergency stop. If I am comfortable enough doing that I can try short journeys, but no long trips until I build my strength back up.

Operation a success. Back home, feeling very sore.

Fasting again today, but this time for tomorrow’s op. When, or even if, I have something to eat tomorrow, is anyone’s guess. I have been shopping this morning so that we have tons of stuff in the freezer, as I will not be allowed to drive for at least 4, possibly 6 weeks. Mrs Jocko doesn’t drive.
Yesterday I gave the car a thorough wash, before putting it in the garage, for the duration. No point in leaving it with salty grime all over the paintwork.
Today we have a dancing lesson, the last for a while, and I am not particularly looking forward to it. We were working on a new step, last time, but haven’t danced for a fortnight.
Here is a picture of my nice clean car!

Shows what two days of binge eating will do for you, even interspersed with fasting. A lesson to us all.
