So, yeah... I uh, went over my caloric intake today. I actually wasn't surprised by that; I went into today expecting it; Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are big meal days, and it's really hard to stay within caloric limits. I can see some choices I could have made to do better, but in all truth, I only went over by about 250 calories, I still burned more than that, and I actually made really good choices most of the day.

I should have had only one breakfast burrito this morning, and skipped the dark chocolate frappucino... gone for a lower calorie beverage instead. Then I got to lunch: Instead of a huge mound of mashed potatoes, I had a small, single serving. Same for the stuffing. Mom made 2 rolls for everyone; I ate one (I wish she'd gone for whole wheat rolls, but they were white). She made a "stirfry" veggie side, had a veggie try, and then I got some ham. I ate slowly, started on the veggies, skipped the dip, and I was satisfied when I was done. I didn't have dessert, I only had one sweetener in my tea... I was really pleased. Then for dinner, I had veggies on my cheeseburger, a banana instead of fries, and chocolate milk. I probably should have had the diet lemonade instead, and a salad would have been less calories... but harder on my sore mouth. Yes, it's still sore.

I had to hit the grocery store; today was the first day we had something other than water to drink after 40 days of water (another reason for chocolate milk and the dark chocolate frap when I should have had other beverages). We got milk, vegetable juice, decaf & herbal teas (even a decaf green tea), and koolaid to make with splenda. We got a few other things that weren't drinks, and then came home, where I did my wii. I've set a new challenge: not just do I have to do 30 minutes, I have to burn a minimum of 150 calories. Once I can get through that with relative ease, I'll up the challenge again.

All in all, I still think today was a good day.
Tomorrow is fasting blood work (complete metabolic panel & perhaps a TSH, I forget right off... I better go find that paperwork) in the morning and then a meeting with the nutritionist tomorrow afternoon... so we'll see just how well I'm really doing. :)

Grr. My mouth hurts. I've been chewing on the left to keep the food out of the holes on the right. Alas, my gums on the left are getting too sensitive. I've been trying to stick to soft foods, but they've not been soft enough, I can tell. I'm glad I didn't get all 4 out; I'd have real trouble eating, but at the same time, the gums are right up to the edge of my wisdom teeth on the left, and I think that's part of my problem here. :(

In unrelated news:
I've not done my wii fit yet for the day. After this movie is over, I'll kidnap use of the tv for it. But I haven't been a useless lump, either. We went shopping last night, went to the movies, and got up earlish this morning for the cheap show today and went to the book store and a little more shopping.

In even more unrelated news:
Starting tomorrow, I end the "40 days of water" challenge I've been on, so I'll start recording beverages. I'm not supposed to have fruit juice, but I can have tomato juice (yay!) and lemonade & sf koolaid and decaf tea & herbal teas, so I'll have those. And milk! Oh my, have I missed milk! I can't have soda (I take a medication for migraines that ruins carbonation for me) and I don't tolerate caffeine well, so I have very few beverage vices.
