I am happy to say that I have completed my third week of the Ketosis diet, and I believe that I have become reasonably adapted; at least enough to reduce the significant, negative side effects of the initial stages of Ketosis.

I am finding new foods and new ways to help improve my diet and my physical fitness, and I am feeling better overall as of now.

I am still seeing very dark purple readings on my Ketone testing strips, which tells me that I am not fully adapted to the new Ketosis diet. This also tells me that I am in heavy Ketosis; it is my understanding that I would not see such high readings on the strips if it was not for a hefty caloric deficit after being deprived of carbs for so long.

Tomorrow's diet plan includes a few meals a few snacks!

Chicken Alfredo
Taco Salad
Bratwurst & Onion/Bell Pepper

Almonds
Pork Rinds
Mozzarella Cheese Sticks
Sugar-Free Jello

This will put me at my calorie and macro-nutrient goals for the day. The only downside is that it will also be what I eat for the next few days as the food does not last forever, and I find that these items are just not the same when frozen after preparation.

I've been debating purchasing some type of step platform so that I may perform some basic cardio at home. I know from when I was training to enter boot camp that this exercise was very demanding and can easily be done from the comfort of one's home. I've also been debating purchasing some kind of pedometer, perhaps a Fitbit One, to give me a tool to better track my daily activities. I do not expect to do anything that is long and arduous, but I would like to set a daily step goal and I know that my phone is not the most accurate method to record activity.

I am intermittently fasting again today, limiting my food window to four hours, and then not eating again for about 18 hours. With that being said, I decided I would have a treat I have not had in quite some time, and that is a substantial breakfast!

I made a breakfast scramble with egg, cheese, onion, and bell pepper laid on top of a large, sausage patty of sorts; I freeze my ground meats this way to allow myself to easily cook them without defrosting, even if I intend to make the meat in a different fashion than as a patty.

It was delicious, and I very much enjoyed it. The only thing it was missing was some fried potatoes with ketchup, but the potatoes are a no-no for Ketosis so I left those out. It is no wonder I gained weight so quickly, as foods like that end up exceeding half of my maintenance calories in the portions I tend to eat! It's enlightening, so to speak :P.

On the negative side of things, the other night I noticed that my ulcer appears to have reestablished its self. In the middle of the night, while cleaning up the kitchen, I suddenly experienced abdominal discomfort and severe nausea. I felt so terrible that I ended up lying down shortly after it started. I recognized the symptoms, but the onset was so sudden that I was surprised. I am not sure if this was caused by the diet change or my new prescriptions, but it is wreaking havoc on my entire digestion system. I'm hoping some fiber will help with that, but I feel bloated as things haven't been going right for a few days and its getting uncomfortable.
