30 January 2016

I wouldn't have a clue how to log today's workout using the site's thingy, but here's what I did:

I recently got an app called Chrono List that allows me to set programmes, interval style. I used it for the first time today and, although the programme I set did a massive number on me, I am very pleased with how it went. I did 21 minutes of what was for me very high intensity. (heart pounding, couldn't breathe enough, lying on the floor hah)

I did this:

30s jogging on the spot,
30s jumping jacks,
30s jogging on the spot,
30s high knees,
30s jogging on the spot,
30s half burpees,
x7

I was aiming for x10, but sod that for a game of darts; I ain't that fit yet. Still, 21 minutes at that intensity is pretty decent, I feel. There was no rest, although I did anyway, briefly 3 or 4 times, because I figured it was either my heart explode or I had a lil rest before continuing. lol

I'm gonna alter it so the first jogging on the spot is either 50s or 1m, might add another, lighter exercise in, and I'll add a rest to every round; an actual rest, or probably 30-60s. Sound good?

Oh, and the flu's more or less gone, just my sinuses haven't quite cleared up yet, and I occasionally get a tickly chest cough.

Lastly, I pulled my right bicep muscle or something, because that's sore and tender. Left calf had only just started to heal—I probably did this too soon—it's pretty achy right now but hopefully it'll ease out. I think maybe I need to up protein intake.

Well, my calves are feeling yesterday's workout. x_x I feel like I'm walking like Jar Jar Binks. I didn't bother with the bike much or weights besides the occasional pullup bar usage that day.

I only did half burpees, high knees, jumping jacks, and jogging on the spot for 20 minutes, absolute minimal rest (jogging was the rest) then the bike for 3 or 5 minutes. Didn't have the energy for much else.

Worked up a good sweat and feel like I got more out of it than the bike, in a way.

Unfortunately, had a tough time getting to sleep and woke up too early to boot, so I'm very tired and have felt ill again. Hope the flu isn't somehow coming back. :|

Just got back from a sore, heavy, achy 23 minute walk around where I live. I couldn't go very fast because my left calf is really knackered from yesterday. I had hoped it'd loosen up during the walk, but I guess not. Feels good though.

I weighed myself again this morning and, although I can't make out the exact weight (mechanical scales, plus I'm 6ft with crap eyesight) I can see that I'm approximately 12 and three-quarters stone, which translates to about 179lbs. I may be 178lbs or even less, but I'll go with higher to be safer.

I biked again for 25 minutes yesterday. (20, then 5) Found it a lot tougher than the last few days for only 25, I dunno why. I ended up quite dehydrated (headache and fatigue) later on so I guess maybe I just didn't drink enough yesterday, as in, before the bike sesh.

Oh, and I've marked out some routes on Google Maps that are very close to me. Essentially, I'm planning my long walks again, because I miss them, and they seemed to do wonders for weight loss a while ago. I'll start with an hour walk, then I'll shoot for 2 hours, and eventually will ramp it up until I'm back to 5 hour walks. I haven't done a 5 hour walk in ages. When the weather's better (cold and wet at the moment) I might shoot for an all day walk, but that's something for much later, I think.

Oh, and the flu is mostly gone, but I'm still left with an annoying chesty cough.

I'm ill with the flu, 'though I'm not getting it nearly as badly as my folks. (yet?)

Just did the house work and hung up the washing, so I guess that burned some calories. I always do the housework so aggressively that I tend to get hot and bothered at the end of it. I charge through it to get it over with.

Did half an hour on the bike yesterday. I wanted to do more, but I was advised against it, due to being ill. I was gonna bike again today, but I'll just leave it at the housework.

I've been biking a lot lately, but that was outlined in my earlier post. I've also done a lot on my pullup bar, but again, previously outlined.

Still doing well, although this flu has prompted some less-than-healthy eating habits, 'though not hugely disastrous.

Hope y'all feeling better than I.

Oh, I got some honey and lemon recently; been adding that to my herbal tea, one type of which has ginger in it. I'm loving it so much that I'm going to get some lemons at the shops some time soon, juice them, then keep the juice spare so I can add it to various drinks, or even just water.

I think if I did that every day and/or night, it should not only lead towards a healthier body, but may help me in my BF loss... maybe.

EDIT:

Thanks, guys. I also discovered that I've lost a few lbs. I was just under 13 and a half stone, now I'm a touch over 13 stone. Best thing is that I weighed after a big meal (not eaten to sensibly today) so I'm hoping tomorrow will reveal a better number if I catch my "dry weight".

I just need to keep up the careful, healthy eating and the occasional biking and pullup bar obsession and I'll be good to go. Eventually I'll get back to my regular, more sensible resistance workouts, but for now it's mainly about cardio and I love that pullup bar! Hey, it's not all bad; it works my abs, chest, shoulders, forearms, lats, traps, and biceps. xD

EDIT #2:

Yes, I'm a bit under 13 stone. :) Definitely making good progress.
