26 June 2014

We had a GREAT day yesterday! The whole day was really best case scenario except the Royals didn't win. We still had a lot of fun watching and cheering- and Trace was sitting by a wonderful pair or women. The woman next to Trace kindly helped hold the fold up seat down multiple times when he would get back in and gracefully dealt with a small child crawling under her seat in pursuit of his roll away ball. I kept apologizing and she kept telling me he was fine- so nice when you are next to people with reasonable expectations of small children (my kids are pretty well behaved generally because that's a priority to my husband and I, but we've ran into people that seem to expect children to behave better- as well as or better then adults). The place we went to eat at had really great food and was an awesome just chill out atmosphere to get into town after hours in the car and just relax and get our barrings. We got to visit for a couple hours with some cousins and catch up and even the late night drive home wasn't bad. The boys passed out early on so my husband and I got to talk and enjoy some down time too. We were all exhausted and fell asleep pretty quick after getting home (we made it into the house just a little befor 1am). Couldn't have asked for a nicer day.

Then to top it off when I hopped on the scale this morning I was 147 even. Ok, so I didn't quite make it a week, but it's been 6 days and I just wanted to see where I was after yesterday's eating out. Getting more excited the closer I get to that healthy weight mark of 135lbs. I started this journey at obese and can not wait to no longer be overweight =)

My husband if officially on his summer vacation week as of today. We were planning to spend the week in Kansas City to see some friends and family and catch a baseball game. However with the current financial issues from the tenant fiasco we can not swing that but we are going to go down for tomorrow only I bought tickets to a Royals game in April with a Amazon Local Score Big deal (ended up spending $30.50 for 3 2star tickets, Trace is under 36 inches so doesn't require a ticket and will sit on one of our laps). I also bought a Groupon to a KC restaurant in May. If we didn't already have those we might have just nixed the trip altogether and saved the gas money. Working in the gas money is a little stressful, but I'm glad we are still going to get to have a little bit of a summer trip this year, even if it's just a day trip ;-)

Trevor drove by the house today since the squator told me he would be out by the weekend (again). Any guess as to who hasn't budged? Was totally just trying to keep me from filing longer. Oh well, nothing we can do about it. I was really hoping they were gone but not surprised we aren't out of this yet. Going to call our attorney Thursday morning, since I'm positive we are going to have to move forward with a court appearance (which costs more of course) and see about dropping off the statement I wrote up and see how he thinks are the best and worst case scenarios here.

Going to just try and enjoy tomorrow though. Hope everyone else is having a great Tuesday!

Going to try and go a week again without weighing in again, hopefully be around 147 even in five days. I'm pretty sure I'm staying around 1100-1300 calories the last week or so a day- but only been loosely keeping track in my head. Today I know I went over though (although hopefully not over maintenance). We baked some super yummy gluten free oatmeal and chocolate chip cookie bars yesterday.... and we ate all but one by tonight. Whoops! In my defense it wasn't just me eating them =p But I ate more then I should have, they were really good though!

We moved that niece who was going to move into our rental house while it was on the market (and can't til we get rid of the squaters) into our spare bedroom (and her furniture into the unfinished part of our basement for storage). I love our landlord, we called him this week and asked if she could stay for a month or so in our spare bedroom because she was going to be between leases (her lease is up July 1st and she'd already given notice last month after we gave the non renewal of lease notice to our tenants/now squaters in May). Didn't want to burden him with why so just kept it short and sweet- she's between leases, we aren't subletting (we aren't going to charge her rent until she's actually moved into the other house. She offered but it seems wrong to charge family/friends for staying in our spare room =p). Although I think our landlord probably suspects because we got the recommendation for the eviction lawyer we are using from the department manager that is directly under my husband- the one who we didn't know knew our landlord but turns out they are not only both friends but went into the rental business at the same time. Our landlord told us that that her staying was totally fine, he appreciated us asking and we'd been awesome tenants. Always nice to hear lol. I wish we could rent to us o.0 So for now everything is as taken care of as possible on that front.

Not tracking is helping with keeping stress down and by keeping the weight loss goal in mind I feel I'm still eating reasonably. I actually feel like it's been easier the last couple weeks then it was the last month or so while tracking and being so stressed out dealing with this rental stuff. The fact that I dropped a pound in the first week of not tracking and just trying to eat reasonable without calorie counting makes me feel that this is working (when I was bouncing within the 149-152 range and back for weeks befor while trying to track). So I'm just going to stick with this plan, try to stay off the scale daily and down to once a week for a bit (I joined the no scale for a month challenge, but for now just working on baby steps lol- get use to once a week first).

It's almost Midnight here so HAPPY SUNDAY & HAPPY MONDAY ;-) Hope you all had a great weekend!

Yesterday was a mix of feelings. Though I was relieved to finally come to terms with the fact that we really were conned- the attorney officially filing the case and setting up serving it to the tenants was still a little gut wrenching. My husband only has been to court once befor (for a speeding ticket 7 years ago) and I never have, so neither of us are familiar with this process. By contrary the con artist has a 5 page report of court cases on casenet. He did claim he was going to be out this weekend- but considering 'I have the uhaul in the driveway' last friday and 'I'll be there befor noon with the rent money' the weekend befor that.... well you probably know how much faith I put in his words at this point.

The bank was able to work with us to an extent, for which we are very grateful. They were able to take the payment down by about half. We'll need to pay a total of $650 and will be settled until Sept 1st (we opted for the extra month in case this drug into August). Then for the next 12 months our payment will go up by about $50 a month to make up for it (very reasonable solution). We have a $500 emergency fund put to the side that we are in the process of cashing out and we should have that the check for that soon to help with the majority of the payment and let us stop worrying so much about the mortgage for a bit.

Yesterday evening we dug under the pumpkin "plant" and carefully broke it into as many of the seedlings as we could, then replanted then in a section of the back of the yard. We probably planted 30 seedlings and if a fifth of those survive the transplanting this fall will be pretty cool =)

Hope everyone else is having a great day!
