Perfect day as far as my food goes. Hit all my percentages @ 1589 cals!
I have battled type 2 diabetes for years; I finally had it! I know I can beat it. In a month my blood sugar numbers are near normal. My blood pressure this morning was 116/64!!! I'm 65 and 240 lbs and is steadily coming down. I swim 3/4 mile 3x a week.
BUT... you can't keep your foot on first to steal second. You HAVE to punt the American diet. More on this if you want.

Had a good lesson today. While waiting on Cyndee and having swam 60 laps, I was hungry so I got 2 McD's sausage, egg, cheese muffins on just 1/4 of the two muffins. I'm thinking lots of protein and fat and a little carb. WRONG! 754 cal, 22.48 gr of carb (my daily is a goal of 25), the fat and protein were ok, given Im on a Keto diet. If I had had one and NO bread, maybe (still not the best quality fat and protein. Lesson learned. Couldn't figure out why keto stick was only slightly pink....dah.

actually are down 2 pounds in 10 days. Its not a lot, but steady. The bigger picture is that my blood numbers are way down. 2 days ago it was 142 in a.m. My blood pressure averages +- 120/80, usually lower.
I am back swimming now 3/4 mile 3x wk. im thinking now that a more reasonable wt goal should be 210 or less.

Losing 0.2 kg a Week

Is anyone else doing a Ketogenic lifestyle way of eating? Have done it before for awhile and did well, but slipped back into carbs again. I started again last week and lost 7 lbs. The level of satisfaction is through the roof! The research that I have done shows this is the best way to BEAT type 2 diabetes... that's goal. Nothing about this comes close to the typical American diet. You'll notice I didn't say Keto diet, 'diet' always suggest "I'm just doing this till I loose weight", or what ever. I believe all of us need to view what we are doing is in fact a lifestyle change.
I will keep you posted
