Hopefully this doesn't jinx me, but I have been somewhat on track this week. I have had a lot of fast food that I know I need to cut out, but all in all, I am doing okay! I am 4.5 points over my weekly allowance and have made up the rest of what I have used in activity points and plan to go to the gym tonight for at least half an hour to cover what I have gone over. I haven't had breakfast yet, but I am going to have some oatmeal and then I am going to eat in for lunch today. First day in a while. Then hopefully I can concoct something yummy for dinner tonight at home and stay within my daily target and have what I like to refer to as a "zero point day" where I don't have to use any extra points. As of this morning I am under 230, so I will be dropping a point this weekend if I weigh in at what the scale showed this morning, but I am crossing my fingers that it will be less! On the life front, the hubby is getting transferred to SC for shore duty! YAY!!! No more going out to sea for the next three years!!!!! I am so excited I can't stand it! I have been busting my butt trying to put money into savings so that if it takes me a while to get a job when we get there it won't be a problem. Josh is going to re-enlist in July, so that will help to pay off a few bills too! :) I am excited for the new change, but I am dreading the drive out there. We are hauling our horses out there ourselves so it is going to be a four day road trip of nothing but eating out. Josh and I have devised a plan to take an ice chest and try to eat sandwiches and healthy snacks in the truck as much as possible, but I think going over on points is kind of inevitable. Maybe we will stay at hotels where they have gyms! A girl can dream can't she? I can't tell you how excited I would be if I were able to stick to points while we drove across the country! Well, just thought I would update my journal a bit. I don't want to sound as enthusiastic as I usually do when I "start over" and get back on track because I feel like I do it a lot, but I am doing pretty good so far this week! :)

We're PCSing this summer too for our third cross country trip. We nearly always stay in hotels with pools (we have children) and those have "gyms." With the military on-orders rate, it's doable --and we're enlisted too. Just call places on your route to find the best rates with the amenities you want. I found a few web-sites that let you plan a trip and the stops have links to hotels in the area. We also asked about space to park a trailer -- which you'll obviously need. Then, we get sick of eating out so we enjoy living out of the cooler. (Check if you're hotel has an ice machine.) We do eat out once a day so we can have hot food. We like Cracker Barrel because you can choose both sides to be veggies. There are healthier choices for breakfast at lots of places like egg substitute omlets and skim milk. Normally, we just go to a grocery store and stock up on cut up veggies, fruits, pre-made smoothies, yogurts, low-fat/low-sodium crackers, sandwiches, and lots of water. We even save our water bottles and fill them with milk. Takes up less space and we're tightwads. This also allows us to profit by not spending our per diem in restaurants. Anyway, in the car, one person makes lunch and we eat in the car. Then for lunch, we stop some place and play, run, kick a ball, ANYTHING to move. This time, I'll be more deliberate to exercise at the hotel and move around when we stop. Yes, it looks silly to be an adult running around trees in a figure-8 at a rest stop, but it's exercise! Besides, I'll never see these folks again... I hope! Congrats on the shore duty! That will be exciting and trying. Our tour that we're finishing up has had my husband home most days around lunch time. I've found out there is such a thing as too much of someone you love! (Don't tell him I said that!!) It's also nice when they are home though because I haven't had to mow, take out trash, or any other "man" jobs. Enjoy the time together!!
