CavegirlInAHyundai's Journal, 10 Oct 10

alright - i was doing great til my roommate had her birthday party where pizza appeared and it was some of the best pizza ever. so i had 4 pieces. then i had a little piece of cake and a brownie. then to avoid eating more brownies, since (I know) when I eat one sweet thing, I just want to eat more til i feel sick, I had half an apple with almond butter. that did the trick. so, i ate too much today, but not wayyyy too much like i did yesterday when i ate a whole bag of granola after drinking nearly a bottle of wine. tonight i passed on the beer - so much good beer sitting in my fridge- and had one glass of wine. just one! which to anyone reading this might seem still a bit lush but believe me, that's good.
so i dont feel horrible about today, but i dont feel great. the challenge starts in the morning and i hope people are reading these journal entires and will give me some sh*t when i am failing. i hate failing, i rarely do it, but that is especially true when i have people watching me. so please watch me people!!
and just as an aside - i have epic heartburn today and just that along shoudl deter me from over eating and eating crap. its a horrible horrible feeling.
tomorrow is a new day!

Hey there temptations are part of the real world...I will NOT get philosophical and start saying what u did was wrong or right and what u should or should not... But I will say 1 thing and that is you Gave In to the temptation now Give Out in the form of exercise. Failure is NOT when we Give In but Success when we Give Out by exercising...So lace up your running shoes and Give Out the Temptation...Congratulations on cutting the sweet temptation and making a healthier choice :-) So gr8 start...Good Luck to Good Life :-)

thanks for that - you are right, exercise is a great way to give out. i've been an athlete my whole life and exercise is alwayss a part of it - the problem is that i can eat eat eat and drink drink drink. so in addition to exercising, i really need to succeed by eating well by the way - i wont be lacing up running shoes because i'm one of those folks that runs barefoot :)

Its actually a great idea, thats why the Five finger shoes are going over so well. It helps with your posture and builds muscle mass. Evolution made our feet the way they are for a reason.. I dont personally do it, but my fiance got him some of the five finge running shoes its "like" running barefoot and he Loves them.

I'm getting a pair of the Vibram Five Finger shoes myself. I hear they are great for your posture and the muscles in your feet.

order them online - they are SO great. warning though - when you first get them, wear them around the house before you do a proper workout. then take it slow - dont just run 10 miles the day you get them because your feet will not appreciate the blisters between the toes. i had serious ankle problems my whole life - athlete since age 6 so its a typical story - to the extent that i've had surgery that couldn't correct them. i would have intense pain whenever i ran, lifted weights, etc; i would even sprain my ankles just cooking or whatever. i had inserts to give me an arch, specials shoes, the works. then i got five fingers and within a month, no ankle problems at all or since. seriously. and this is not an infomercial. i've not met anyone who wasnt happy with them. plus, the science is backing them up. a good friend of mine is an orthopaedic surgeon and he says all the claims are legit.
