Asian Beef Lettuce Wraps

Bring a touch of Asia into your kitchen with these delicious wraps.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cook and drain the ground beef (add up to a tablespoon of fat-free Italian dressing if required). Set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the sesame oil and heat. Add the cabbage and carrots and sauté for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the beef and cook, stirring, until the cabbage begins to wilt, about 2 minutes.
  4. Add the hoisin sauce and soy sauce and cook for 5 minutes, until mixture heats through and cabbage wilts, stirring frequently.
  5. Spoon some of the beef into the center of each lettuce leaf and roll up.
  6. Note: adapted from a recipe by Robin Miller (The Food Network).

YUMMMM!!! Best recipe ever! We substituted the sesame oil for olive oil since Wal-Mart doesn't have it. But luckily Wal-Mart did have the hoisin sauce. Delicious! Unique! And soooo filling!! A+++

I'm pretty sure the hoisin sauce is off limits during first phase (but pretty tasty).

I tried making this tonight but didn't use Italian dressing and did use the "veggie" beef. It was absolutely delish!! My hubby raved over it! He used the left-over "meat" with some left-over rice and stir-fried together with onions and fake eggs for fried rice for midnight snack. It is SO tasty!!

This sounds YUM. I would first fry onion then add meat.

5 Points per serving, easy and delicious! I divide the meat mixture into quarters and then use as many lettuce leaves as I want, which makes a LOT of wraps!
