Weight is back up to 200lbs, don't know why really, I have been eating less. The research I have done on what I should be attaining as a healthy diet consists of 142g of Carbs, 25g of Sugar, and 2000mg NA. My PCOS probably has a lot to do with most of it since the insulin resistance causes much of the weight gain. I want to focus on eating better however I have been in the habit of eating too much so I thought I would start back at the beginning and do step one. Step one: eat the right portion size. This is a big step since portion sizes are actually pretty small. I did join Planet Fitness (and yes to all those who don't like it, I know they aren't suppose to be the best but for the everyday folks like me, its good enough to start off with.) I have not been yet though, I joined on Sunday and then ended up driving 5hrs to pick up a bed. Yesterday I had stomach problems all day and today my husband's truck is getting fixed so he has my car. Maybe tonight my hubby and I can go together. I am still thinking of the different diets out there that would be a good for me. I don't want to diet per say as much as I want to ave a healthier lifestyle that I will stick too period. Getting my sugar and carbs in check is a must for sure. I did lose weight on the JJ Virgin diet: NO Gluten, soy, dairy, sugar, eggs, corn, and peanuts. I thought of the Paleo Diet as well: no sugar, grains, or processed food, good carbs, and low dairy. It is high in fiber and in protein. Then their is the Low Carb High Fat diet: consists of eating high protein, no processed foods, no bread or pasta, no rice, and no vegetables that are high in carbs like potatoes and corn. However I don't care for how low they recommend on the carbs. 5-10g seems unrealistic for long term. There are sites that seem to point out some issues and solutions to the low carb diet though Poliquin Group states: you should get 50g of carbs from low carb fruit and vegetables, eliminate all grains and refined carbs, don't over do it on the protein but eat moderate amount of good quality protein. It states to also support gut health by eating higher fiber foods, yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, and kim chi (I have yet to dare to try kefir or kim chi). It also stated that eating fat was ok but to not over due it also which makes since. It says to eat carbs every 5-7 days so that the body stays sensitive to insulin and keeps the brain responsive to leptin so your body doesn't go into deranged hunger. (Due to my insulin resistance I get to experience this if I skip a meal or don't eat enough, my body thinks it is starving and I end up binge eating and it is aweful). The site ends with the final suggestion on managing your bodies acidic levels by eating lots of fruit and vegetables with the animal sourced foods. They suggested a lot of different test to get also. Overall, I agree with them; everything in moderation! Too much of anything is a bad thing.

Step one: work on eating correct portion sizes and beginning to do a light exercise. (I am a beginner, I do not like to exercise due to pain and I have lots of issues to really be careful about. However, I do want to work out and I have to start off gently and gradually increase my strength and flexibility).
