I had a bit of a bad day yesterday!

Most of my day was spent at the computer searching the internet for a new job - hopefully this has been fruitful because I've got 2 appointments in London this afternoon with very high-classed employment agencies. So keep your fingers crossed for me!

I took a walk into town which is only 30 mins walk and had a little browse around the town for the first time since we moved here 6 weeks ago. And I've discovered a little butchery who sells some select South African food. I crumpled at the sight of the brands I've missed so much. Your probably saying "Well food is food, whats the big deal", well the big deal is that when you've grown up eating something and then you move country and they have no product similar to the one you grew up on then you miss it so terribly! I first saw the Peanut Butter, but that's not my favourite brand so avoided buying it. Then I asked the little man behind the counter if he had any biltong - this is similar to beef jerky but a lot drier and alot spicier - and he said yes so I bought a bag. Just as I was walking out I spoted a can of Fanta Grape pop which you cannot get here in that flavour so I bought that too. Same thing again, was just about to walk out and I saw Flings chips - these are baked maize meal chips and couldn't resist so I bought a bag of these....once again, just about to walk out and saw Ouma Rusks and same thing again, bought a box of those! I couldnt wait to get back home and scoff the lot! I'd actually convienently forgotten that I shouldn't be eating them and I was half way into the bag of flings and slurping my Fanta Grape, while walking home, and had a look at the calories per can and per 14g of flings and I almost keeled over on the spot! In 14g of Flings there is an asounding 800 calories (I kid you not!) and the can of soda pop has 435 calories!! So I scrunched up the bag to close it, took one last slurp of my soda and jogged the rest of the way home! Oooohhh but they tasted soooo good and I'm glad I splurged on those instead of something I didn't really like to start off with!

So I've been job hunting this morning on the internet... and I've been exploring all sorts of different avenues but I just don't feel "grown up" enough apply for some of the jobs that are advertised. I feel as if I should be sitting at my desk at my first job and "playing" secretary not actually being a secretary... just read this email from a recruitment agency who thinks I'd be perfect for the job -
Quote:
Hi Chantelle,

There seems to be a problem with their website at the moment. Just to give you a brief over view, the company has been established for over 100 years. They own both Residential and Commercial portfolios. The commercial portfolio is UK wide whilst the Residential portfolio is limited to Chelsea, Knightsbridge and Kensington. The residents tend to be Barons, Dames etc.... this is a multi million pound portfolio.

The development director is looking for a P.A/Secretary/Administrator to assist him on a daily basis. As this is a newly created position the successful candidate will need to implement a number of processes and procedures.

I hope this helps.

Regards
Lucy

Now to me this sounds like something someone much older than my 29 years would be able to do... C'mon... their Barons and Dames and very important people who I'd be dealing with, what makes Lucy think I'd be perfect?! She's not met me, she's only ever spoken to me once on the phone and seen my CV so why did she think I was perfect? What quality of mine jumped out at her for her her to put me forward for this job??

Did my stretching last night and ooooohhhh it felt good. The only "side Effect" it had was I slept in late this morning! Hehehe! I'm going to walk (balk at the sound of that!) into town today (my Dad says it should only take me 30mins!) and do some grocery shopping and then walk back... if this doesn't kill me then carrying the groceries will! Hahaha!

So the "boss" finally made a show - not in person though, on a text message!! Yeah, the swine just text to say not to come in anymore and he'll collect my keys and mobile this evening when he drops my personal belongings at my house! Ummmm no! I'll drop the keys and anything that belongs to work back at the office today and I'll collect my personal belongings thanks very much! I don't want him coming to my house, especially with a father who wants to throttle him and a husband who is furious with him! I don't think that would be a condusive environment in which to conduct business, do you? I think not!

The weekend went really well with only a minor indulgent moment on sunday. We went across to the cavery again because after an entire day of unpacking the last of the boxes from moving (there were in actul fact only two - the fish tank bits and Tony's tools) and cleaning every nook and cranny in the house I was tired and decided I was going on a cooking strike! I didn't over indulge, I just had this enourmous craving for a potato so I had two little roasty potato and they were just gorgeous! Yum Yum! Hopefully that has taken me out of Famine mode and back on to the road to loosing! I know for sure that my body has stalled due to the massive loss I had in Week 1 of the challenge.

Now I'm sat in my fluffy PJ's at the computer wondering what on earth I can do today! I've got a spotless house, no washing or ironing to speak of, I have no job to go to - hmmmmm the possibilities are endless! Hehehe! I might take this opportunity to have a whip around the kitchen cupboards and do a shopping list for the week and then stick on some joggers and go for a walk around my new area! What ever I do, I look forward to being able to do it!

On a final note... yesterday was my great grandmothers 104th birthday! She was having a little party with a few friends, family and her children (all of whom are now in their 70's or 80's - My Grampa was the second youngest at 77, Uncle Jim is 79 and Aunty Irene is 82 - the youngest Donald passed away 10 years ago at 65)! I know she had a wonderful day and I bet you she drank enough champagne to sink a ship! Bless her sweet little heart! I think I'll also try and give my Grampa a call today to see how she enjoyed her party!

Today I sit here pee'ing myself... Demon-mother of my stepson finally found out last night that we moved from where we were from my old neighbour after she'd been screaming at an empty flat to open the door along with every cuss word she could find for almost a solid hour! John opened the door and said "love, they've been gone for over 6 weeks now" and promptly closed the door in her face! ahhh how'd I'd loved to have been there!

Went into work yesterday and hung about waiting for the "boss" to arrive but he never did show! I took the day out shopping and wandering around and then went back to the office and started to use his phone to look for a new job! Sent through my CV to a few places, spoke on the phone to my aunt for almost an hour in Australia, phoned my best friend in South Africa on his mobile (cellphone) and generally assed around for the day! Going back today to do the same thing! hehehehe!

i haven't been logging in my food journal properly this week mainly because I've not really been eating all that much during the day except for fruit and the odd fruit drink! Terrible I know but like I said, nothing seems to satisfy me and I'd love nothing more to have a peanut butter sandwich dripping with butter but NO not going to do that! Work out is going to increase alot this coming week because now I'll have the time during the day to work up a sweat! :) I'm going to get stuck into this house and do a proper clean, I never did that when we moved in because the lady who left here left it so immaculate that there was no need - But I like to smell my smell in the house!

Hope everyone is having a great day! I'm now off to "work"! Hehehehe (evil little laugh!)
