For whoever experiences plateaus and needs a reminder to see them through by not giving up on your eating plan but ALSO not giving up on yourself in terms of letting yourself get discouraged, here’s your reminder!

I just experienced a plateau that was long enough that I started to question whether I should adjust my plan, whether maybe I was tracking my calories inaccurately, etc. I decided to wait for 2 more weeks (it’d been a month ish) and eventually I saw the weight reduce again. Last year, I would’ve given up or put a lot of stress on myself (thinking my metabolism was shot, how was I going to do this for the rest of my life, was I going to just have to eat barely anything forever to stay a healthy weight without gaining? ) This year, I put my worries and disappointments aside and kept going, KNOWING I would reach my goals, KNOWING that my food future had happy yummy nourishing prospects.
I have to say I’ve experienced a plateau where I gave up (for 1.5 yrs!), a plateau that was grueling to get through and brought on immense frustration and discouragement, and the last where I felt hopeful, empowered, and peaceful. I have to say I much prefer that latter type of plateau.
Make your goals possible, believe in yourself, and enjoy yourself as much as you can along the way!

So it appears that my weight loss has slowed down immensely. But then I calculated the loss from June of last month and and it averaged .9lb./wk loss. Not bad. I am eating (according to app calculations) calories low enough to lose 1.5-2 lbs /wk on top of sticking perfectly to a keto diet this whole time. I doing minimal strength exercises, I’m talking 30 crunches a day, plank for like 20 seconds , and similarly small amounts of a squats, girl push ups, lower abdomen crunches, and pull-up training for one. but it is more than I used to (which was no strength exercises.) have not increased my cardio . My plan is to wait 2 more weeks or so and see what results I get? Not sure what my body is going through or what it needs, (if it’s adjusting in some way or gaining muscle weight) but I don’t want to lower my calories just yet in case of making them too low for healthy functioning. Think 2 more weeks is long enough to wait before I decrease calories? (I’m okay if my weight loss slows to a discouragingly slow pace as long as I am healthy and readjust my plans moving forward so that I can continue to lose weight. I am not yet in normal BMI range and want to at least achieve and maintain that even if my metabolism is shot and I have to eat a small amount of calories per day) the goal is health. And feeling good in my body ie having energy, thinking clearly, pretty much just not hating life. 😁
