Yesterday was ok diet-wise. I had fruit (banana and pears) for breakfast before leaving for school and then more fruit (grapes, cantelope, honey dew melon, strawberries) during my 11:00 class. I had planned to eat my veggies (carrots and tomatoes) after the lab test in my 1:00 class, but that didn't happen. I left after the test feeling really hypoglycemic (very common for me) so I bought an OJ and drank that on my way to my meeting with my favorite history professor. I guess it could have been worse - at least it wasn't soda - but it did make me feel better until I had time to eat. I think that's going to be my biggest hurdle to face. I'm so busy between work and school and home that I find myself skipping meals a lot or eating on the run. Something to work on, I guess. For dinner I made spaghetti with whole wheat pasta and added zucchini and mushrooms to the sauce. Not on the plan, but I was completely tapped out of energy at that point. I didn't eat nearly as much as I normally would have (I love pasta!) and I drank quite a bit of water yesterday. Not perfect, but I think I have an idea of what I need to work on. Tonight I'm thinking about making roasted veggies and rice for me, plus chicken for everyone else.
Despite the food issues yesterday, I am already down by 3 pounds. I'm a little obsessive about weighing myself. I'm trying to keep it to every other day. I need to see the numbers to keep myself on track. It's a bad habit, I know.
