Losing 0.3 kg a Week

Who knew that intermittent fasting and watching macros actually works?! Yeah, I did but I’m also lazy and love carbs. My friend, Michelle, has had great success with her 5 year journey and shared her tips and tricks along the way. I’m just slow on implementing things. Her words - delay don’t deny - are kind of a fresh take on great grandmas - all things in moderation. Also, when did I start eating so many processed food items? Looking at nutrition panels is eye opening. Stopping the soda habit cold turkey was truly a withdrawal experience. It reminds me of hearing people talk about quitting smoking. All good until an odd craving hits and then you have to go do a load of laundry or walk around the block to get it out of your head. Down 3 lbs as of today. Clothes are still snug but integrating consistent movement (notice I didn’t say exercise…yet) is this week’s addition.

Started intermittent fasting yesterday. 16hr fasting - 8hr eating window is the goal - along with keeping calories under 1400, keeping sodium under 1500, keeping carbs under 100, drinking at least 8 cups of water. I'm already grumpy. I did, however, make it to 17.5 hours of fasting the first day so a little starter boost. I know I can do this and I feel better and look better when I do this but it takes about a week to get back up in that wagon after falling off and having it run you over.

Had annual physical today. BS is better but BP is now high. Have to take a water pill in the am, monitor my BP and email to doc. Also have to start monitoring all sodium intake which means reading food labels more closely. No salt, sugar, carbs....just shoot me now.
