Look at how far I've come! Woooo!

Yep, today it finally hit me. I've been happily pottering along, simply enjoying the small pleasures and minor accomplishments, thinking life is pretty good. Until today. Suddenly, I saw that in the past 6-ish months my life has undergone some radical changes. It's almost like looking at someone else's life and not mine. The reason? Today is the day that I can officially say that I've lost 40lbs. I can hardly believe it. 40lbs! That's frickin huge!

Compared to the start of this year, I feel like my body is stronger and more capable than I could have possibly imagined...and it feels great! I feel so much healthier and can't wait to see how I feel at the end of this year.

I've also noticed changes in my behaviour and choices. Despite claiming I was on the "see food, eat food" diet where I could eat anything I wanted (in moderation, obviously), I find myself willingly changing my diet and choosing the healthier option because, in all honesty, I'm enjoying it more. I can't face greasy, salty, processed food very often now. Bleugh. I'm cooking much more and using whole unprocessed wholesome foods because, frankly, they taste awesome. I've become a big fan of my local farmers market too because their food is actually fresh, unlike the wilted supermarket versions. However, I reserve the right to resort to a good macaroni cheese when I've had a bad day - home made, of course.

I think I'm also a much more positive, confident person thank I was before. Always looking on the bright side. The other-half seems to appreciate the happier me too :)

Next week, I'm due to go back to the highlands again and I'm seriously excited. You see, this was the place that really provided me with the inspiration to get this far (
Some photos here, if you're interested). I wanted to be able to hike across desolate moors for miles and miles, or climb the many beautiful mountains found there. I was frustrated at my body not being able to do the things I wanted. This time round, I can't wait to try out my new body and see what it can do! Obviously there will be no mountain climbing because I know I still have limitations and don't have a deathwish. But walking I can do and I am going to walk my legs off! Can you imagine how amazing it's going to be next year???

Anyway, I'm off to do a happy dance. Have a great day, folks!
