I was cleared to return to work today as I was hoping would happen. Although, I'll still be out another month as the schedule for next month has already been posted. I am on call if someone calls out, which is nice. I love my employer and I'm glad that they were able and willing to accommodate me taking 2 months off for an optional procedure (abdominal hernia repair).

The other good news that comes along with this is that I can resume my exercise. I'm going to first focus on repairing my diastasis recti. It's a gentle 12 week program and I think it will be a nice way to transition back into working out before I go back to intense workouts. The goal is to try to get rid of my c-section shelf, I say try because I'm well aware that it is not possible for everyone to get rid of it.

I'll start the program on Monday as the program is set up for 5 days a week and I'm confident that I'll have more success if I do this training while my kids are in school. Working out with two 5 year olds in the house has proven to be nearly impossible.

For those interested, here is a link to the program I'll be doing*. It came very highly recommended to me, but I wont endorse it until I see results. Most people have reported that they see an improvement in the gap (diastasis recti is an abdominal split) in just a few weeks. I'll update when the time comes.

*Because this is a gentle program, it may also be useful for anyone just starting an exercise plan.

I've done it again. I hit all of my fitbit goals yesterday for the first time since August. I'm sure that I accomplished it yesterday because my vehicle spent 6 hours at the mechanic. My stats don't reflect my progress all the way because I stopped logging my water intake. I know that I surpass that on a daily basis and I don't want the people of the interwebs to think that I'm drowning myself. That is my gift to you; you're welcome.

I still have that hanging ball of cheese attached to my abdomen (smaller now with deeper stretch marks - it's sexy). I understand that visceral fat is the most difficult to get rid of and that I'll have to add the dreaded exercise back into my routine. I'm thinking that waiting until the next time the car needs tires and brakes isn't the best plan. I do have a few Jillian Michaels work out videos that I used to do on the regular. Which I obtained simply because I don't like her (for no reason at all). There is NO WAY I'm going to allow her to show me up in my own living room!
