Have been walking back and forth from the store with Lovey. The first day of my dieting is today and I intend to do it right. I love that I can come here and add in my meals and snacks and get a first hand view of what I am taking in. Also want to add that I had 4 tacos last night all with 2 tsp. of meat, 1 tsp. of cheese and a half a tsp. of regular sour cream. Along with my 10 ounces of green tea. My blood sugar didn't shoot through the roof after it! :o) So I know I can have that without a high sugar spike. I am hoping to discover more foods that I can have that won't spike my blood sugar. <3 I wish I had a scale though. I will not know if my efforts are paying off until I see the doctor on the 14th. I want to weigh myself each day but without a scale this would me walking down to Walmart to use a scale temporarily. But this measure seems very ghetto lol. I long for a scale. I saw one at Walmart for 20 dollars but we are on a very tight budget so...I may never get one :o(

I am a Type 2 diabetic. I inherited the disease from my mother and her side of the family. I used to be a lot skinnier but then I had three children. I had an accident at work 6 years ago that makes doing any kind of beneficial exercise near impossible. I had neck surgery last year and this means I can't lift anything more than 5 pounds. I have to have another neck surgery and back surgery, and I am on serious pain medication. I have high cholesterol (thanks to my father) and I am vitamin D3 deficient also thanks to dad.
I am trying to lose weight. I am on insulin and a flexpen fast acting insulin for my diabetic care and I also test my blood sugar 6 times a day, however my doctors have been very unhelpful in directing my dietary care. They told me "Eat what you want, just watch the amounts." My A1C is 11.8! How could they leave me like this? I feel alone in this and so I am hoping this site can help me get my weight down and my A1c down so I don't have to worry about losing limbs or renal failure or worse death. I am committed to my weight loss goal, so all advice will be greeted with much thanks and sincerity.
This is truly my life saving effort to turn my health around.
