Lydia Kleyn's Journal, 24 Feb 10

Met with my trainer this morning he had me doing weights then squats and lunges, he had me sweating good today, and then did 2 more hours of hard cardio. Don't think I have ever sweated so much, when I workout I have to push throught the first 30 mins then I just don't want to stop. Had to push myself today b/c yesterday only was at the gym 40 mins. Hopefully it pays off on the scale sometime.
Ive decided when I get to 179 Im going to buy that shirt taht says "Shut up and Sweat", that will be my treat.
I leave in 5 weeks for australia can't wait to surprise people there some of my friends haven't seen my since I was 100 lbs heavier. :-)
Just really have to remained Focused every single day, which isn't always easy.

Wait a sec... Training and THEN 2 hours of cardio?! Are you a machine?? That sounds like an awesome day at the gym, though. It'll definitely pay off. :) In 5 weeks you'll have lost even MORE weight! Australia had better watch out! How do you plan on fitting in exercise on your trip? I'm always concerned about that. :/

Yes I am actually super excited about my vacation because then I can focus on running every day, and I am also bringing Jillians 30 shred DVD which I have heard so much good about. I am planning on running a 10k when I get back from australia so excited

I do love the aussie accent esp the guys accent, and it's def an accent to my ears now that I don't live there

Your success is just incredible! So inspiring. Thanks for the buddy request and for the great example you set for the rest of us. How long have you been running?

Thankyou for your kind words, I came across this website just 7 weeks ago, I really do love it has so much support and awesome people on it. I ran a 5k last year but didn't train for it. Ive only been running for 4 weeks started on the couch to 5k plan, but started training with week 4. Running certainly does not come easy it's a matter of training your body. Im running a 5k in 4 weeks, shooting for less than 30 minutes.

You've made a lot of progress in only four weeks of running! Sounds like from your description of your workouts that you have started from a pretty athletic position, which is very different than my experience and probably a lot more fun! I started couch to 5k last spring not long after I started weight watchers and I was waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy out of shape. So, it's been a long journey from then to the half marathon I am doing in a couple of weeks but running and I have grown up together, so to speak. I am so so happy I finally started doing it.

I have never been athletic :-) just been working out constantly at the gym for the past 2 years, so am pretty fit now. I have never ran before so for me its all about training my body. Goot luck on your half marathon, thats my goal for next year
