I'm not sure about calcium, but when I get an iron deficiency I start to get the urge to chew on ice chips. Very tired and cold often as well. You could always take a daily multi vitamin just in case, they have gummy ones if you're like me and choke on the regular pill ones.

doctors and nutritionist say it's very important to take equal amounts of magnesium with calcium. They need to be in a one to one balance. But almost all supplements still have them in the 2 to one ratio, which was at first thought to be correct, but shortly later proved to be wrong. One to One ratio is correct.
RE: iron, my well water is iron rich, so I drink it occasionally.

As a healthy, beef-eating, American male, you are likely fine in terms of iron.
