revv0614's Journal, 04 Feb 10

Well this week has been hard. My father in law has been in the hospital from heart surgery. Monday was the worst, we were at the hospital for almost 10 hours so we were eating out of vending machines and in cafeteria. I was really disappointed in myself when I came home and recorded my food in my log and saw how many points I had eaten. Luckily hubby is very supportative and pointed out to me that it wasn't a complete failure, because I tried to make better eating decisions than I would have made normally. Instead of hamburger and fries I ate a salad and a wrap. Instead of mayo I had them put mustard on it. Instead of a snickers from the vending machine I had almonds. So although I went way over my points it could have been a lot worse. I need to keep remembering that it is baby steps and its hard to change all eating habits overnight.

I hope everything works out for your father in law. It is tough when you are not at home to eat right. But, it is baby steps and you made some great decision. Stay positive, you can do it.
