I've heard if you have a bad craving (which I do ALL the time w/ sugar) quickly occupy yourself for about 10-15 minutes, and your craving will go bye bye. Hard to do when you work in an office, but maybe go walk around, stretch, go make a phone call outside, whatever. Works sometimes for me....

Years ago someone told me that if I'm craving sweet to eat a small piece of dill pickle. There is a sodium trade off with that, but it does kill the need for cake for me! :)
