It's ok to cave in every now and again. Just do it in moderation. Such as cutting it by half. Also, if I really crave something, I let myself have it, but first thing in the morning. SUch as Keylime Pie. I'm a sucker for it, but if I have a slice, it's first thing when I wake up so that I can burn it off as the day goes on.
