Back from vacation and up about 5 lbs originally and down now 2 lbs. I didn’t eat that much and walked like 6 hours a day. One day we walked 25km. No idea how the heck I put on so much weight. Spent $700 on food for myself last month. Just me with the exception of one or two meals for my daughter. I averaged 1800 calories. I swim a lot but it does not matter apparently for weight loss. Saw a pic of myself and started the poor man’s diet. I will eat what’s on hand and cheap and that’s not junk.

Swimming - or any exercise- “may not matter” for dropping pounds but it is absolutely essential for our overall health - mental as well as physical. Please don’t stop! I saw a rash of articles a while ago saying, basically, that diet *takes* the pounds off, but exercise *keeps* them off. Horse and carriage, I guess.

I agree with you. There are even studies that say exercising trumps healthy diet when considering longevity. I will never stop: I love it cause it’s so good for my mental health. Even if it doesn’t take the lbs off.
