steveputer's Journal, 20 Dec 23

this has been a lonely journey. the vast majority of people don't want to do live like this. people support you and compliment you in the very beginning. some may even join in and try to change themselves.

but, once they realize the level of commitment and accountability it requires, they go away and resume back to normal.

i don't like normal.

Seek out others who also do not like 'normal.' You are not alone, you are aware that you have changed a great deal. It may be beneficial to meet more like-minded friends. 💙

I struggle constantly with the desire to resume normal and my knowledge that if I go back to my old habits, I'll go back to my old weight. Lately, I admit, I've been slipping. Doesn't work for everyone, but weighing daily for me is good data to have to know when I need to return to better habits. (Ahem...like now.) I keep a 7-day average so I'm not thrown off by a single day's fluctuation, but I can see trends

yeah i track all numbers daily. this lifestyle is important to me and i enjoy it. i'm not interested in like minded friends or accountability partners. the motivation must become intrinsic.

The mind set needs to be that staying healthy is normal. So tracking nutrition and keeping active are normal!

Many of the things most worth doing in life are solitary endeavors, because we do them for ourselves. Other people are in their own minds doing their own thing

I don't like my "normal" either. It may be what I do but it is not good for me
