This might be a silly question, but has anyone ever ADDED calories to their daily goal and seen better weight loss?

Yes. I eat until I feel satiated. So my daily caloric intake fluctuates, 1200 to 2000 calories. I lost 60 pounds in 8 months. I read that always eating the same calories can put your body in starvation mode. I found it beneficial to mix up the calories but I eat healthy 98% of the time, no preservatives, etc, which helps.

I’m not sure what you mean by “better” weight loss. When I started in June, I was eating 1100 cal a day and the rate of weight loss was rapid but then I hit a plateau. I noticed I was able to get out of it after raising the calories somewhat. Now I’m eating around 1400 cal a day and I’m still losing weight, even though my exercise has decreased from the summer. The loss is less rapid now (3 lbs a month), but I consider it healthier, and the higher calories make things more sustainable over the long term.
