hunger is a gift. hunger means one is healthy, digestion is working and metabolism is working.

when one is not well, they say things like "oh he has no appetite", "he's not eating", "he has not touched his food for days"

but then when we're well again "i got my appetite back" "i actually feel hungry"

change the psychology and we can make changes to the body. hunger is a gift and doesn't have to be fought with food. make peace with hunger, especially if you've met your nutritional goals for the day

Hunger can be hard to fight. Sometimes I find an activity to do to distract myself from hunger. Also, because I've switched to lower calorie foods, I can eat more, be less hungry, and maintain my daily calorie goals. Lean protein tends to fill me up better.

i feel like it's fraudulent marketing to tell people something will make them feel full or feel satiated. that is not a guarantee and it teaches people that if they still feel hungry, they need more food..........which they do not. a large proportion of weight gain is from over eating. people may over eat due to a malfunctioning hunger mechanism. how many people eat 3 denny's grand slam breakfasts and then say "i'm still hungry"....?

Will power and deprivation doesn't work long term. That's why so many people end up on fad diets and rollercoaster weight. You need to develop healthy habits that you can live with. I eat sufficiently low calorie foods that some days, I feel stuffed, yet I haven't yet reached my caloric goal. Other days, I'm hungry when I should not be, so I find a way to distract myself. The gym is an amazing appitite suppressant. I agree that hunger does not always have to be satisfied, but white knuckling it is ineffective.

yeah, the psychology and the marketing doesn't leave one with a fighting chance to endure nor succeed during the hard parts of the journey. promising someone they won't be hungry with product X, Y or Z.....is emotionally abusive.
