Feeling defeated! I have done every diet known to man, except Keto. Started keto 2 days ago, and while I have been for the most part "good" I am struggling with motivation. I just lost 10kg on Saxenda. I couldn't afford to continue, and when I stopped, even though I have been relatively good I have gained about 2kg back. So I have been against trying keto because it isn't simple - and by that I mean it's harder to get pre-packaged frozen foods (like mixed vegetables) and be able to have it. it's basically a matter of finding foods I can eat. I don't eat seafood, and I love fruit and veg - so it's hard for me to restrict that so much! I also have 2 kids at home who are already fussy, so it means making almost 2 completely separate meals.
I have severe anxiety surrounding shopping. Not only for food but also clothes. I was a beautiful healthy weight until injury, now it's been 10 years of trialing everything and I end up just gaining instead. I didn't even meet my first goal of 70kg on medication. I want to cry every day, which makes dieting hard because I 100% self sabotage. My partner is amazing and so supportive, but I still feel like a failure. I am just hating this! I am a healthy person stuck I a fat girls body! Even my kids tell me "you don't eat like a fat person". My kids can't remember anymore when I wasn't fat and when I wasn't trying to lose weight. That hurts!!

I can feel your struggles, it's not easy to break free from limiting beliefs and self sabotage. You are commendable for keep trying to break free. See all the different diets in the market have a spin on their sales tactics. They do work but can be too expensive or you put back the weight you lost once you get off the diet. The best way to handle it is to change your mindset towards healthy eating and portion control. With this approach you are trying to eat less but you are allowed to eat everything within the portions. It's a good life habit to teach kids as well. Kids grow up looking at parents and learn subconsciously the same habits as parents. So, you all can look at adopting healthy eating with a focus on portion control. Just need to learn a bit about macronutrients, because it's what (correct ratios) our bodies need.

I wish that was the case with me :( unfortunately portion control does not work for me. I have worked with several dieticians who were floored when conventional weightloss methods had me gaining weight. Even on commercial food programs where they provide you exact proportioned foods designed for weightloss I gained - to the point some programs have given me money back. My issues are to do with my body, and my doctors all know it, they just can't work it out. I was 52kg all my life, had 2 children and stayed the same weight. I then had some major changes in my life. I started shift work, I injured myself extremely badly and had an extremely stressful job and gained 30kg in 3 months. Since then I haven't been able to lose. I've been on medication after medication, diet after diet, seen specialist after specialist. There is something wrong with my thyroid. I'm on medication to assist that, but it's hard because I have levels that don't make sense. One hormone is high while others are low which isn't normal, so it's hard to correct. I know my diet plays a part in why I can't lose enough but that part definitely isn't my portion control. As my kids say "you don't eat like a fat person" because I literally eat better than anyone they know - fat and skinny!

Ok. I hope you will find a solution that works for you. It must be stressful to find yourself in a situation where no specialist can find a solution. I do know about thyroid and weight gain. Best of luck 🤞

Yeah, he has. My thyroid measurements are all over the shop, but basically still normal. He has said "something is wrong" but not sure what. I am on medication but it's not correcting random weirdness of levels. But not weird and abnormal enough to stop the weight loss

Hi Kim I’m sure you’re sick of hearing it- YOU GO GIRL!!! You can do this!!!! I know it will take time and perseverance and throwing in the towel…. As long as you get back on the horse YOU WIN!!! I just got to the peri menopausal part of life!!! And my hormones sent my weight spiralling (I have always been voluptuous; I love having curves) however I’m to blame for my poor diet having been a full time student for three years (LOVER OF ALL THINGS FOOD) and fully online I have the most sedentary life style now (and throw in fabbo Uber eats) it has tipped the scale!!! Sooooooo here’s to all of us making that choice to reclaim our health and positive lifestyle choices!!!!

Can you tell us wish diet is more easy and effective ?

@Elias, I have noted that the effectiveness is extremely individual. Some things that have been super effective for others have seen me gain weight, so I am not the best to give advice on effectiveness. For me personally, Keto so far has been the only effective "diet" with any other weight loss method requiring medication. But I will note that I only finished using Saxenda a few weeks before starting Keto, so the loss could be an extension of the Saxenda for me. As for what diet is easiest..... probably the lite n easy or weight watchers. They have delicious food, with minimal effort to think about what you are eating. It's mostly heat and eat. I gained weight on this, with an unsure explanation why, but like I said I have a weird body! To make things worse I have digestive issues and try to stick as close as I can to a FODMAP diet (with some exceptions that I know I can safely eat by doing an elimination diet). Unfortunately almost all pre-packaged meals contain onion and garlic, which are my main irritants. The only other advice I think really works is lowering sugar and upping water intake. Everything else is very personal!
