I am very discouraged. I have given up on the South beach Diet. I cannot afford to buy all that expensive meat and fresh fruits and vegetables at this time. I feel like such a failure. I have tried and tried to lose weight and I always gain it back. I am reading Bob Greene's Best Life Diet at this time. I am trying to eat low fat and reduce portions and start walking and weight lifting again. I guess I'm not on any special diet I am doing my own thing.

honey dont be discouraged. its all about moderation and portion size. what has helped me is writing down every little thing i have eaten. and i know its not that great, but trust me it will work. also as much as i hate it, excersize is also good.. get moving.. weather a walk or dancing infront of the mirror with your hair brush singing your fav song. just so that you body is not in rest mode all the time. i wish you luck hun.. and ifn you need to talk.. im here. *huggers*

remember like desert says - portion control and make the best decisions you can make...when things look up...you can go back...but definately hang in there

Cheer up and don't give up on getting healthier. Diets such as the South Beach are not designed for long-term duration but only to give temporary fast results with most people gaining back their weight once they get off the specialized meal plans. I follow the guidelines set by the Canadian Food Guide for free. It's pinned on my fridge and refer to their guidelines for daily serving size when needed. I have lost over 40 lbs. doing it that way and the only money I paid out was to buy new clothes in smaller sizes.

sweetalot...sb is designed for a life time not a quick fix...it was origionally designed for heart patients...sb also is not a specialized meal plan...sb is a WOE not a diet...

I can so relate to I'm not on any special diet (lost on SB and gained it all back within the same year), and now I am doing my own thing. See my journal entery for today. Sista, I feel your pain!

I feel your pain, and I definitely can relate. No one told us this is going to be easy but anything worth anything takes effort, dedication hard work, patience, and time, so do yourself a favor. Take your time, be patient with yourself ,be dedicated to your health ,because you’re worth it ,don’t do it for anyone else but you and enjoy the ride of getting back to good health. You can do this, so can I ,I’m right there beside you. .🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
