So I have been a little MIA, and I feel bad about it, though I haven't gone (too far) off track. The holidays were a b****, no doubt, and I did gain a few pounds back. Exactly how many, I will find out tomorrow. There were a lot of temptations and "Well, this is never in our house" sort of treats; now that the junk is gone, I am not buying more of it, which is definitely a positive point.
The other positive side to it is that I exercised throughout the holidays, and a lot! I did Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred nearly every day (I think I missed 4), went to a couple of hot yoga classes, and did a lot of running! I ran the Surf'n'Santa 10 Miler on December 5 (or 4, I don't remember), and finished it in way faster time than I'd expected: 1 hour, 39 minutes, and 32 seconds, which gave me a pace of 9:57 per mile- yay!
Since then I have really dug into my next training schedule, for the Shamrock Marathon here in Virginia Beach, March 20! Yikes- 26.2!!!! So far, my long training runs have gotten up to 10 miles, and this Saturday, I am starting a distance series of training races with the local running club. This weekend's race will be a 20K (12.4 miles), then in a few weeks there is a 25K, followed a few weeks later by a 30K. You can check out my runs on this site:
http://www.buddyrunner.com/katie.hutchins I love playing with the different graphs and comparing my runs. I'm a geek. I'm rather happy with this morning's 7 miles- it felt good, and it was a nice morning out.
I don't know if I ever shared this video here on FatSecret. It is a news segment about our Run Like a Mother training team, and I have a little snippet. You should go watch it!
Run Like a MotherSo, I'm not dead, I'm not off the wagon, and I'm still running! I am trying to get back into the habit of recording all my food intake and exercise, but since an update to the application on my phone, it has been behaving oddly and inconsistently- frustrating!
