Hi Friends, on July 1st I started 30 days of no wheat, no dairy and no sugar. On April 30th I went off the medication for Rheumatoid Arthritis. My blood work was good, inflammation level was down and I felt pretty good. On July 30th I go to see the Rheumatologist and will have blood work done. I am trying this way of eating to see if it helps with the inflammation and keeps the joints feeling good. Has anyone tried this and did it help?

I did the Atkins diet in 2005 and lost a ton of weight rapidly, however, I found this diet to be unsustainable. I gained the weight back and find that I have a higher intolerance to sugar than ever before. However, I think he was on to something and opened up new ways of thinking in regards to diet. He made me see that it was not fat that made you fat, but the combo of fat and sugar. In fact, when I went to see my doctor after following the Atkins, he was taken aback when measuring my blood pressure, and all of my blood work showed up nice. This after eating a ton of fat every day!!! (bacon, cream, butter etc).... He actually was surprised at the good results!
I am also striving for minimal dairy and sugar (I am not eating any sort of grain - but I love coffee and fruit and wine) Your body will tell you if you are on the right path. You'll get your answer on July 30th. Best of luck!
