Last night was movie night. Every second week or if there’s something good on my wife and I will go out to the movies right after work. We have supper at a restaurant or have take-away food and then to the movie.
Last night we went with Italian and I was very careful about what I ordered. I decided on pasta and was intrigued to see how few dishes excluded a ‘creamy sauce’ which was exactly what I was trying to avoid.
I found one…ONE! Pasta with roast vegetables and a tomato sauce which is what I picked. To drink? Appletizer.
Appletizer is purely a South African thing. It’s pure 100% apple juice that’s been carbonated for a fizz.
All in all a very satisfying meal…until I got home!
I did some dish washing of straggling dishes only to find a monster in my kitchen! You know the one. The one that whispers ‘what’s going on in the fridge?’ and ‘Mmmm. A slice of cold meat or a cracker would be nice about now’.
I couldn’t believe it! I wasn’t hungry, but there’s that urge to snack for the sake of putting something in my mouth again! Incredibly frustrating!
I finished my washing, poured a glass of orange juice and went to bed. I practically had to restrain myself from reaching out and eating something – anything!
This is definitely a problem and something I’m going to have to consciously fight.

Oh, I know that monster very well! However, he follows me around even when I leave the kitchen! He especially whispers to get a snack when I am watching television in the evenings. It's VERY hard to deny it so good for you!!
