Have you given up on your LCHF way of eating? It used to work so well for you.

I agree, I am definitely going back to LCHF after Christmas, as it works well for me too.

I'm trying, but end up eating any old rubbish.

It's working well for me too.
Jocko, stress doesn't help weight loss. Sends the hormones a bit mad, I understand. Relax over the festive period, have a good time and then get back on it. Look how much you've already lost. That's a really impressive achievement.

Stress will only get worse. My son texted me to say his mum was rushed back to A & E overnight. That's me back on the driving duties.

Really sorry to hear that, Jocko. Do you have any other options so that you're not on call all the time? Taxis, maybe? Sorry if it's awful of me to suggest that.

That's awful, Jocko. Is there any indication of how long she'll be in hospital? I think SP has the best idea - ignore aiming for a loss for now and just try to eat well without measuring it. You've a lot happening and worrying about weight loss isn't something you need to be adding. You've done really well to date, a bit of time off from it isn't such a bad thing. In the New Year, you should be able to get your head back into it. And consider the taxi idea. You can't be on call all the time. Take care, Px

I think we are in the same boat right now, eating wise. Anywho, to change the subject to something way off base, hubby has Scottish ancestry and he agreed to let me research his family tree. I want to plan a 2018 trip to visit his family's "old country." I have looked up some info on his family crest and tartan. I am totally making him buy one. I think they are so sexy!

The day has gone from bad to worse. I popped into work this morning, to pick up a part for my car, to be told that one of my workmates had a stroke on Saturday and died on Sunday. He was due to retire shortly and asked me for info regards the tax situation for retired people who continue working. Just as well you don't know what's ahead of you. Regarding transport for my son. He is disabled and taxi's are not the ideal option.
On a lighter note. Lady D. If I can help your research from this end, let me know. I am sure you will both enjoy your visit. Scotland is a varied and interesting country.

Very sorry to hear about your workmate, Jocko. What a shock for his family and such a dreadful time for it to happen, so near Christmas.

Really sorry to hear your bad news, Jocko. On a lighter note, Scotland is indeed a wonderful country. I had many fantastic holidays there when I was a girl.

My sincere condolences for you losing a workmate. Not easy Jocko thinking about diet and such, stress can have a negative effect on our weight anyway
You are doing so well, so give yourself a breather now. 🌹

OH Jocko, this is a challenging time for you. You can handle this. Just take each day as it comes. So sorry the ex is back in the hospital and your co-worker passed away. Does your son live with your ex? If so, who will care for him? It just goes to show we have to make the best of each day and take better care of ourselves along the way. Hugs!

Christopher stays with his mum. They are carers for each other. He cannot come to me as he cannot manage stairs, and I live 6 flights up. It appears that the problem with my ex is acute pancreatitis, caused by gallstones. My daughter was with her today and said she wasn't even aware she was there.

Oh dear, I'm sorry to hear about all your troubles 😞 That's a lot to deal with all at once. Do take care, and I also agree with the suggestion that you should try and eat as well as you can, rather than worrying about weight. Wishing you all the best, and I hope your ex will be home again soon. Is it likely to be surgery for her?

Such a sad time for your colleague's family and a shock for you. You're so right about not knowing what's around the corner. If your ex is in hospital and she and your son were each other's carers, is there any help available from the Social Work Dept? It might be that reassessment (or maybe initial assessment) is needed. I know it's a while since I worked in a Scottish SWD but some things won't have changed. It's worth an ask. Or is there a local volunteer transport option? I know there was one in Argyll which helped people get around if they had mobility needs regardless of age. They could also help if needs were more complex, within reason
