I was averaging about 900 calories per day for a couple months, but the last couple weeks I’ve upped it to about 1200 calories per day in order to try to increase my fiber and protein intake. I figured I would gain a little initially, but this is going to be more sustainable.

Any gains would be water, since clearly you are in a deficit. By raising cals you are also eating more carbs n sodium. Don’t fret water weight. And yes sustainability is key 👌

I have a great new low carb keto bariatric doc. I needed to Find our why i have to restrict my calories so much to lose. I'm averaging 800. I was eating the recommended 1500 for a few months and i regret gaining. I'm going for a test on Thursday to test my resting metabolic rate RMR. I CAN'T WAIT. I'll know for sure where I'm at. He told me no lower than 800 and gave me an amount of protein i must meet. Still a work in progress. Good luck!

F_FJ, I enjoyed your response to my post, and Yes, I have heard the phrase "I wish I was the size I was when I first thought I was fat?" Something similar rattles in my mind often. Best results on your weight loss journey🤗
