Fledgist's Journal, 15 Apr 11

Thirty-two minutes in the gym yesterday. The sauna was out of commission for some reason. Today, down nearly half a pound. I'm wondering if I'm settling into a pattern of losing weight one week and then not doing so another. Still, I'm happy to see that my weight came down again.

I noticed yesterday that I was comfortably drawing my belt in another notch, so this morning I changed from a 42" to a 40" belt. Sure enough, I'm now comfortably wearing a 40" belt on the first notch. I think this means that I'm going to have to order a 38" belt in my next purchase of clothing.

I don't think that pattern is unusual. Lose-plateau-lose-plateau is a pretty typical pattern for long term weight loss. The plateau is when your body is adjusting to its new weight.
