I do not get it! I have been eating around 20 carbs with no cheating. 7 lbs fell off quick and now I'm gaining?? i want to quit!

i am drinking water. maybe i need more. i dod drink at least 1 large unsweet tea and a cup of coffe w/ splenda every day. do you think caffeine matters?

I have dabbled in Atkins, but hate it because it's so limited, and any little thing can throw you out of Ketosis. I found then when I drank diet coke or coffee, my Ketosis would slow waaaay down. That's another reason why Atkins is hard for me...I really need the caffeine!

lay off the artificial sweeteners. they trick your body and are all just chemicals. put in NATURAL foods!

I agree with christelpistol, I totally forgot about that part! That's why diet sodas are a double no-no.

Gains happen to almost everyone. There can be many different reasons for it. If you weigh every day, expect to see the scale go up and down sometimes. As long as the overall trend is downward, I wouldn't worry about it. Don't ever quit over one tiny gain. I have had little gains so many times, it's not funny. If you are doing everything right, that gain will go away and you will continue losing.

Stick to it girl! I've been doing Atkins off and on for 2yrs. My weight has fluctuated for many reasons, but mostly because of the things that everyoe else mentioned. Caffeine & artificial sweeteners. Continue to consume lots of water and try adding a pinch of lemon juice instead. As for coffee, hmmmm...I still need my 1 small cup to get me going M-F, lol. Stay encouraged!

Oh yeah, NEVER skip breakfast. Breakfast gets your metabolism up and running for the day. Try hard to stick to 4-5 small meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism running at peak levels...Eating less on Atkins causes the opposite effect of what you're going after...

Ms_hajah - something you said also triggered some thought... I have been eating less and less because my cravings have slowed down. I will try to eat more small meals. I mean after all, if its low/no carb i can have all i want, right?
