we11ro's Journal, 14 Mar 11

So I weighed in this weekend after consistently working out 5 days this past week. I followed a pretty good diet. Unfortunately it did not show at the scale. I gained 0.4lbs. Not a lot but I did not think I would gain at all. I felt a bit defeated but shook it off and got my head back in the game. Karen at weight watchers said that if yo make a drastic change in your workout that your muscles can end up absorbing nutrients in a way that may not reflect your hard work on the scale. So I will continue to work hard and stay focused and see what my weight shows in the next few weeks!

Moving forward!!
129.5 kg Lost so far: 18.4 kg.    Still to go: 41.0 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

also! just so you dont get discouraged you should probably know that muscle weighs more than fat. If you're converting fat to muscle you WILL weigh more. That's why an athlete's bmi for example can be extremely off accordingly. Dont get discougraged, also i would suggest trying to eat more healthy food aka cut out pizza for example but eat more in general. You want your body to be in fat burning mode the entire day!

Not exactly true ninjapanda, 5 pounds of fat is equal to 5 pounds of muscle. Muscle is denser than fat so 5 pounds of muscle looks thinner than 5 pounds of fat. You can take two people that weigh the same but one person has more fat and will look flubby vs the one with muscle will look thinner. The number on the scale can never tell you how small your waist is getting! Hope this helps!!
