Even though I hate seeing it go up, even a little, I’m still happy! I’ve been doing great maintaining between 127 and 130–with 130 being my max allowed (because I replaced my whole wardrobe and cannot afford to grow out of it lol!!). I haven’t made significant changes to my diet for maintenance, other than allowing one higher carb meal on weekends (like my favorite pizza or dessert). Since this journey has actually been more about changing my lifestyle overall, I’ve just naturally developed a craving for “cleaner” meals while also not depriving myself of a treat if I desire one. Everything in moderation! I’m a bit dehydrated right now and retaining water, so I expect that in the next day or two, I’ll be back around 128 which is where I feel the most comfortable in all ways— mentally, physically, energy, how my clothes fit, etc. This has been a long journey of self accountability for me and I just want to say to anyone struggling: stick with it!! The fluctuations happen and don’t let them discourage you into binging. Love your body during all the phases because that is what has allowed me to finally SEE and be satisfied with where I am now. Body dysmorphia is very real and a daily battle, but sometimes I just have to stand in front of the mirror and look only for the parts of me I love—and some days it feels like a “fake it til you make it” thing. ❤️

I too have been working on a new way of living, more than a diet. I know that "dieting" is what made me weigh 338 pounds. I lost about 63 pounds in the last couple of years, and have maintained most of it during the last 6 months which have been rough physically and emotionally. Right now I am at 282, which means I am up about 7 pounds, but working on getting it back into the 275-280 range. One day at a time is the only way I have been able to go on.

Bonnie, I think that’s a great attitude and also CONGRATS. It’s a big deal to lose AND keep it off! The mistake I made before was to throw it all out the window as soon as I’d lost the weight. Then I ended up gaining more than I had the previous time. One day at a time, small changes at a time so things don’t feel so difficult and depriving, and using apps like this for accountability! This community has been incredible and there’s so much knowledge to be found here. Also, REAL people that share the highs and lows and don’t scold you for a bad day! ❤️❤️ You’ve got this!!

Doing great. Portion control and moderation. Healthier choices most of the time and less healthy or less conducive to maintenance just once in a while. Keep up the good work.
