Week 2 of tracking my calories. I am trying not to be too obsessed with counting them, but I have learnt from reading labels of what I eat. Wheew. At first I was too hard on myself, wanting to eat only 15g of carbs. Adjusted that to 35g as a fair and realistic start point for Me. I am also on week 3 of #NoSugar, aiming to complete 90 days. This is also the longest I have gone as an adult without fast foods: MCD, Kfc etc. I can't believe it.
87.5 kg Lost so far: 2 kg.    Still to go: 17.5 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

Thank you for your response. So if my carbs are 35 and fibre is 13, does it mean net carbs are 22 or 48?

Nhlanhla..it is very important to count your calories..ALL OF THEM, even 1tbsp of oil that you use to cook you food with (for example)..

I hv a serious problem with counting every calorie as I cook meals for a family I used to try but I became obsessive and give up. Now I jus add 200 calories to my count for things I may hv missed out

yes that is understandable, just bare in mind more or less how many calories everything contains that you do not count. the reason why i like using oil as an example is because that is something almost everyone uses and most people do not think of counting the calories of oils because it is such a "small" thing right.. well for interest sake 1tbsp of sunflower oil has 120 calories..

Yeah and esp being indian in curries we use oil that's y I'm doing low carb and focus more on that than calories. It's really hard with a husband n kid that constantly eating looking for snacks n ofcoz they both skinny lol so I make big meals n jus warm up n try n kp them healthy for instance if I make Mac n mince I will kp some mince n hv it with baby marrow noodles

lol yes i completely get that, it is a tad bit more difficult when you need to cook for the family. but i think you are doing good by replacing the pasta for the baby marrows and it is just as delicious.
