xalepos's Journal, 09 Oct 10

Ha, well according to the scale this morning I'm actually 139, but this scale is my mom's scale and it's always been a little lighter than my new Chinese body fat scale that would be great as a reference if I were only I were a 30 year old 5 foot man! But still, changing scales and finding a higher number is always a little painful, because even though it's more about consistency, there's a crazy lady inside of me that thinks every time I'm bloated and in the middle of the period from hell or weighing myself after a heavily salted meal in the middle of the day... hey no that's not a slight fluctuation: you just gained three pounds in an hour!! AND YOU'RE GOING TO KEEP GAINING UNTIL YOU'RE TOO OBESE TO LEAVE THE HOUSE!!!" This is the same voice that seems to think I'm incapable of completing a single legal memo even though time and time again I prove myself highly capable of such. I like to keep her placated by letting her rant for a few minutes, reflecting back her feelings and then agreeing to disagree. But a nice external confirmation is always comforting.

My balance was awful doing paso today, but the standing exercises for abs work were fine so I'm just going to say it was a matter of warming up.
