Started the keto diet on Wednesday, so this day 4 and I love it! I am having a bit of a struggle with getting my fat count up and also incorporating low carb veggies into my diet. Countless sweeps across the internet seem to give me few options, although I did manage to get a Greek side salad in for lunch yesterday and I had some avocado tuna salad with celery and onions for dinner last night. I'm not having trouble with keeping fruits low as I'm not a big fruit eater (the main issue that put my weight on was soda, up to 5 20oz bottles per day, glad I'm done with that!) This diet so far is keeping me extremely full and I feel like I'm eating all the time! Any tips for a newbie at this would be greatly appreciated!

Feeling full is good. You can use that to cut down on snacking. I used it to cut down eating to two meals where I am right now. Sounds like you are doing fine. Keep going. I am working on month 11

Sasha, at the start, your fats can be lower percentage of your diet, because your body will draw on its fat reserves. The key things are to keep carbs as low as you can; moderate protein; and to supplement salt to avoid the "keto flu". Have a cup of salty broth or bouillon a couple of times a day.

Sasha, welcome to the keto kar on this here train! The only way I am able to keep my carbs low is to plan my meals at least a day ahead of time, in the FS food diary. That way I can edit/omit/replace individual foods in the plan to adjust the carbs. I'm still averaging about 50g/day but I've also done what Gz9gig suggests -- lowering my fat macro percentage -- in favor of burning body fat for fuel. I also practice intermittent fasting along with LCHF/keto (almost carnivore), fasting 16 hours minimum per day. (The IF shorthand is "16:8".) Fasting lowers your serum insulin level, which also facilitates fat burning over fat storing.

Keeping my carbs low is the only diet that has worked for me long term. It is satisfying and the cravings go away quickly.
