I am surprised and proud of how quickly I'm losing weight. I was completely wrong about gaining muscle weight before losing the fat weight. It might, in part, have to do with my non-functioning kitchen situation but I'm definitely still eating healthy and regularly. I had to skip two days of my p90x workout because I was out all weekend but I did other various activity, like dancing for several hours and walking around all day the next, so I don't really consider myself off track, yet. Back at it tonight! Can't waste these results

I'm starting my second day with P90X. I've originally been a little hesitant to try it since it has always seemed like a routine to bulk up, which is something I've been trying to avoid. After the first time, I'm convinced that it is, indeed, a great workout for anyone as long as you know your weights and your reps. I'm not really expecting to lose weight in the first few weeks of this workout, I'm actually expecting to gain the muscle weight before the fat begins to burn off. I know that currently it is too soon to tell but I'm a little bit of a weighing whore and I'll be paying close attention to what the scale says (and also my clothes, which will start fitting less snugly, I hope).
As far as the eating is concerned, I'm not making too many changes on that front. I am eating healthier: no candy, less sugar-laden foods, only healthy snacks (like nuts). I can't seem to get away from the carbs (I just LOVE carbs) but I'm going to cut back on those slowly also. I'm also facing the problem of not having a working kitchen at the moment (no stove, no oven, no microwave, nothing), which could push my diet into full-blown "veganism" for the time being. We'll see what happens!
