I have ‘issues’ when it comes to food.
My issues being from family members I live with telling me to get out of the kitchen without any context to why I’m there.
I’ve politely told them, it doesn’t help! To trust I’m on my eating plan and I’m eating accordingly.
This stems back to when I dated a guy for eleven years with a overbearing mother. I weighed 200 when I had met him. I had goals of getting to 165. I was healthy, young and vibrant. She told Me I was too fat to be seen in their neighborhood. What would the neighbors think?
I started covering up with a long jacket when I was outside over at their house. She constantly berated my size, measured my tiny portions of whatever she cooked for that meal. He didn’t have my back my ex at the time. He soon started to lecture me about concerns regarding my health.
I would go home and binge and eat large amounts of food. Whatever ‘help’ she was giving me. It was back firing. In the eleven years with him I put on one hundred extra pounds.
I’m not blaming her for my weight gain. I’m blaming her for making me feel less of a person because I was overweight. I blame myself for letting it impact my actions.
Today I cringe when I open the refrigerator door. My mom shouts out “ grab an apple”.

I’ve got to channel my old brain a year ago.
I lost forty pounds in 4 months on the program I’m back on this year, a year ago!
I went from 310 to 268. It was impressive!
Now I need to refocus my energy and think back to how I was successful at it.
Some things come to mind:
Air popped popcorn four cups of it every evening for a snack. I then sprayed it with I can’t believe it’s not butter zero spray. Added Kernels seasoning of any flavor that’s zero calories. That kept me full and not hungry at night.
I planned my carbohydrates ahead. I mainly ate protein with very few good whole wheat carbs measured out. I had my protein bar in the morning and either a baked potato, rice or a small amount of pasta at lunch. For dinner I had egg whites.
Measure! I measured everything! If I had light ranch for my salad I measured a tablespoon exactly.
I started to feel healthy. I wasn’t eating junk and putting good nutrition back into my body. I had more energy and my mood was better.

Back on track!
I’m back in a good mindset. I’ve lost one pound since weighing in with Red Mountain this past Friday on a new program. I’m weighing in with them once a week every Friday. It will keep me accountable.
