I skipped my workout this morning so I am doing more tonight. I am happy to say that after a week of mostly sticking to my exercise regimen, I can now do 8 minutes straight on the Nordic Track instead of just a minute or two before becoming too winded to keep going. That makes me so happy because I can keep my heart rate up for bit and really start to sweat. The fact that it only took a little over a week to make progress I can be proud of is very motivating to keep going.
I am following no diet. I do keep track of what I eat though to make sure that during the day, my physical activities burn at least 800 calories more than what I am eating. At this weight, that is actually not that hard because I burn more calories carrying the weight around and every form of exercise, big or small, burns more calories than in a skinner person doing the same things. If I can keep this up, even if I am not dieting, I will be losing weight. But for me the biggest thing is helping bring my blood pressure down for each day.

It is harder these days to record everything I eat and all the exercise I get in a day. But the exercise I have done pretty well sticking to. I had to go out and buy some cross trainer sneakers since I did not have proper shoes and the arches in my feet were starting to feel seized up. Today, I slipped on ice in the morning but kept myself from falling, at the expense of a muscle in the left lower side of my back and now I find I cannot be on the Nordic Track longer than a minute or so at a time before it spasms out all the way up into my shoulder. but I am keeping my gym clothes on as long as it takes and I just keep getting on when the spasm lessens, even if it is only a minute at a time. In between I try to stretch it out and keep the muscles warm.
I cannot fall off the bandwagon. High Blood pressure in nothing to mess with. And since I am not able to get health insurance at my present weight and cannot afford out of pocket, I really need to buckle down and do the best I can to control my blood pressure on my own

Well, I am back after 6 months of change in my life that had nothing to do with diet and exercise. My boyfriend and I moved in together and have both had to adjust to a life with each other and new jobs. Threw me way off course. And it is much harder to stick to an exercise and diet regimen when your significant other does not have to. However, recently I have discovered I have high blood pressure and if I just do ten minutes of aerobic exercise, it will lower my blood pressure significantly for the whole day. So I purchased a used Nordic Track over the weekend and yesterday evening I got on it for the first time. It is quite the workout and fun. I have it parked in front of the TV and that makes it much easier to work out without noticing that I am. :) My plan is to workout for at least ten min every morning while I watch the morning news before work. Then get back on first thing after work and spend 30 minutes. Because I am so out of shape and heavy, I usually cannot do more than 2-3 minute spurts but I stay on the machine and take a 30 second breather and begin again, trying to push myself a bit longer each time. Its much better than doing nothing and even if it does not do much to take the weight off right now, it will be doing wonders for my blood pressure which is the biggest scare and motivation for me. Ok enough computer time. Heading on my machine for my morning workout.
