I fulfilled the journey I started in May to lose some weight, tighten up and run my first Spartan Sprint. I lost about 16 pounds, sliced my abs up for the first time in ages, and placed #12/71 in my age group (50-54) at the Spartan in addition to placing in the top 15% of 3100 runners overall and top 25% of all males (1800+).
I am now changing my goals from cutting down to bulking up. To do this and keep focus on my new goals I will be changing from FATSECRET to another app. I will convert from an LCHF diet to a carb based diet. I have really enjoyed the LCHF however I will now experiment with a different diet style while getting ready for my next Spartan in the Spring. This will allow me to better assess how my body responds based on different diets.
This has been a great journey and I do expect that when I convert back to more fat burning in the spring I will then come back to FS.

Down to 171.3 lbs and 18 days from my first Spartan. I have stuck quite well to ketosis allowing my carbs to go over 50grams twice since May with most days at 25 grams. Subcaloric since May and starting to feel rapid losses of energy. Spoke to nutritionist and he suggested putting in 150 gram carb day prior to running at gym to test its effects on my work outs. He suggested this type feed every 3-5 days, not sure I want to go far but doesn't hurt to experiment. Started today with two feedings of long grain rice will see how run goes this evening and report back.

in an effort to gain/maintain muscle while still losing fat I am losing extremely slow. LCHF based on typical 25g net carbs, 110-115g protein, rest fat up to 2200-2400 overall daily calories. Typical energy expenditure 2300-2600 per day. FATSECRET RDI 3100.
