Tracking information in fatsecret with better graphs is really easy if you use google docs. The spreadsheet app is actually very robust and has some great timeline options. Ever since I was asked by my doctor (lazy MF) to be evaluated for bariatric surgery I have been tracking weekly averages of calories eaten and the caloric sources. This was for the dietitian that I had to work with.
I really didn't want to do the surgery and I told them I wasn't an over eater, I was only eating 1400 calories a day. They of course did not believe me (if you're fat you must be an over eater). I asked them what the bypass surgery actually did that made the weight loss happen. The answer was that it limits your food intake to 700-800 calories a day. I said "I can do that.". I needed a good way to deliver weekly reports to them. Thats where google docs came in. I made a work area where I put the daily food journal totals from the FS website and set formulas that calculate averything into averages. I even have a line that shows my total averages for the entire period in which I have been tracking things. Each Friday I copy the weeks averages and paste it into the feilds for that week and this drives the data in the graphs providing me twith quick views of the trends and letting me know if I am on target for my goals; low fat, balanced protein and carbs with the latter lower.
Here are some pics of this detailing what it looks like.
