First time for everything. I have always wanted to do a front flip into a pool. I see the boys do it. I never muster up enough courage to try. I'm afraid I will face plant or over rotate. Yesterday, my baby girl moved all of her stuff into a moving van. I am an empty nester. I'm not sure I'm ready for that but life keeps moving forward, whether you like it or not. Sure, I'm 43, and that's not usually the age where people start trying new physical feats.

But why not? I'm in just about the best shape of my life.

I stood at the end of the diving board, took a running start, chickened out, and dove in. I stood at the end again and said to myself: You can do this. So what if you face plant? Then you know you need to tuck more. So, I went for it. I did it! So, then I did it again and again. I over rotated a couple of times and went in a little forward but it was no big deal. I felt like super woman. I could see all the young girls watching me with open mouths and smiles. I would like to hope that I inspired them to go for it, to push themselves and see what they can do. I raced my friend and won. I pulled my body up and out of the water from the diving board. All of those things took my mind off my baby girl moving out, and I ended up having such a great day.

Face your fears. Live life to the fullest.

I spent most of the day in the pool. I went to bed early because all the swimming was exhausting. I ate some meat and a tiny bit of pasta. I went home and made a wheat lavash with ham and cheese on it. I woke up at 1 am hungry and discovered a large bruise on my arm.

Totally worth it.

An unusual visitor at the office.

Busy, busy, busy. I have had little to no time to journal. After getting back from vacation, I went right back to car hunting. We were looking at Sentras because the price was so attractive but after talking to a friend who said that they bought a commuter car once and fought over who had to drive it – I realized we needed to get a more comfortable car. A vehicle you drive on a daily basis is not something to compromise on. From the beginning, I wanted an Altima. I just love the way they look. The problem is that I wanted a needle in a haystack because I love the rear spoiler but wanted all the other perks, like blind spot warning, the convenience package, etc. Short of customizing a new one ($$$), I was at the mercy of getting lucky enough to find one that someone else had customized and added on the rear spoiler to the SV trim level when they bought it new. I had been searching for over a month, and on Monday the one that matched all of my boxes popped up at a dealership nearby. Shortly after, this deer showed up in my window at work. We get wild turkeys every now and again, but never deer. It was right smack in the middle of the day too. I took it as a good omen. Like my Mother was watching over me and letting me know that this car was the one for me. Sounds silly, I know.

I let my husband know that I think I found what I wanted and with a $14,900 price tag, he was happy. It’s certified pre-owned, with 28,000 miles, and we opted for the full coverage warranty, up to 7 years or 100,000 miles. After we bought it, the dealer pulled out the original price tag that the first buyer paid and it had $29,000 on it. Crazy. I drove her home the next day, and I have to say I LOVE my new car. I don’t’ feel worthy, lol. I can’t believe how much I love driving it. It has been 14 years since I have bought a vehicle for myself.

I am still dancing on the blue line. I made myself get back into the work-out routine last night. Man, it’s tough after such a long vacation of leisure! I don’t want to lose everything I have worked for though. Hope you all are having a great week!
