Blowing a real gale here. So bad that it blew an artic (semi) over on the Forth Road Bridge. It rolled from one carriageway, over the centre gap and in to the other carriageway. This happened at 2 am and the bridge will remain closed until they can remove it, which won't start until the wind abates, which they reckon will be around 10 am. This is the main link between Fife and Edinburgh so will cause chaos. About 5000 vehicles an hour cross, at peak times, but this morning that traffic has a 30 mile detour on country roads.

Weight has stayed constant since I started the new regime, but at least I am never hungry and I have plenty energy. I don't feel cold anymore, but that could be more to do with the weather than my metabolism. I'll see how it goes these next few days. There are high winds and low temperatures forecast. As our flat has no double glazing and windows that don't fit the frames, it gets rather cold in here, so I'll see how I cope.
My Apple Cider Vinegar pills arrived yesterday, so I will take the first one with my breakfast today. Not looking for a huge difference when I take them. Just hope they are palatable.

I am working today, and it could not be raining heavier. It is blowing a hooley, with wintry showers forecast for later. Typical. Not the sort of weather for an OAP spending most of the day outside. I had always pictured myself sitting by the fire, cat on my lap, reading a good book. At least we are not getting the weather that eastern Europe is getting. That's cold.
Feeling a bit stiff after the first dance class of the year, yesterday. It is amazing how a 4 week lay off creeps up on you.

I have decided, after much research, reading, and watching videos, to give up on the traditional notion of dieting. My body tells me it doesn’t work. If I reduce my calories below what my body is burning I get hungry, cold, lethargic, tired and grumpy. I know, as the past few weeks has proven, that as soon as I come off the calorie restrictions, I pile the weight back on.
I have decided to follow the Insulin path, or to be more precise, Insulin Resistance path. I have selected an RDI that FatSecret says I should be on to maintain my body weight, but intend to make changes to my diet to try and reduce my Insulin Resistance. I will dramatically reduce my sugar intake, reduce my refined Carbs (replacing them with “Good Carbs”) and follow a 16:8 eating regime. I will see where this takes my weight and report as I go along. My only nod to calorie restrictions is, I have selected “Sedentary” as my lifestyle, when setting my RDI.
My guru I am looking to for guidance is Dr Jason Fung (“The Obesity Code”). I have watched his videos and understand and accept his science.
So let’s see where this goes!

It is Friday and time for my weekly weigh in - and what a surprise. I haven't had a bowel movement for several days and feel like - well I would if I could. Working today, so jumping in and out the van might chivy things along. Here's hoping.
