I looked at joining Weight watchers again.. I like the accountability of meetings.. but i don't need that. I feel like there is a community of people here that are also having the same goal. I can look to you. What really needs to change is many things in my life.. but eating has always been a hard subject for me. My bravo moment today? having a regular sized dinner portion with no 2nd's. It was all leftover food, it was veggies and rice and quinoa and i threw in some meatballs from the freezer. Honestly those were the highest in caloric content but it was a good dinner, simple and satisfying. It held me for 4 hours until i decided to have a snack of Apple and cheese.

My relationship with food has to change, my idea of eating it because its going to go away is the big issue. I grew up in a "clean your plate" household. its still that depression era mentality thats come down through the generations. Don't waste food.. I approach it a different way with my daughter, but not to where she feels like she HAS to finish ALL her food - just that its not good to waste food (take what you will eat, no more). I want her to have healthy relationship with food. The "clean your plate" part of my life is like ok clean your plate, and have more because that's all there is. I mean its not like we are ever going to make this same exact food again, right? I always think that i need to eat and eat more now because it will be gone. I honestly need to just work on remembering that.

Additionally - Portions- sure, I could eat two eggs, but one is satisfying. I could have two sandwiches, but one is plenty. once i cut down on the portions, i need to work in better eating habits. I have decent ones now.. i get in veggies (more so than fruit) and tend to eat less processed foods than most.. but still they are a part of my diet. Once i get portions down, I think I can then work on the content. Its a process and i'm glad i'm here and talking about it..

Whats your aha moment? what do you struggle with when it comes to food?
