Again plagued by the angio edema attack. GRRRRR!!! More prednisone. Double GRRRRR!!!
However, my husband and I were talking and we were thinking about how when I was lighter I didn't seem to have as many attacks. Then we tossed about ideas how to get this weight off as quickly as possible. He was wondering if eating the atkins way, with the additional protein was actually triggering the attacks. He might be on to something, I have been doing a little research and it seems some people believe that it can cause too much histamine. Since I have an issue with histamine it might be possible that this is the cause.
I have to say that in general on a whole when I am symptom free of the angio, I feel fabulous now without the carbs in my diet. I really don't want to go back to the old way of doing this.
Does anyone know anything about this?? And exactly how many grams of protein you are supposed to eat a day. Maybe I am just overdoing ot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello to all my buddies. I have been reading a few journal entries and I noticed a theme. "I gained a couple of pounds and I hate myself"
Now ladies and gentlemen, really, are you only what the number tells you on the scale??? You are all so much more than that, you inspire me, encourage me, and help me stay motiviated to carry on this journey. You have people that love you, and rely on you. You need to love yourself TODAY, and your body, TODAY.
Start by looking in the mirror and instead of the usual, "OMG my thighs are so fat" or whatever that nasty little voice is telling you, take a look at your eyes, notice how beautiful they are, or your lips, hands, feet, breasts, backside. legs, hair.
I want you all to find one thing that you love about your body and just feel the good feelings associated with that.
Then start treating your body with love and respect. Feed it well, give it proper rest, and make yourself a priority. Let's just be kind to ourselves and see what that brings.
That's my plan. Laugh, live, love, eat well and get some of this weight off.

I haven't been terribly successful, however, I don't eat sugar. I do think I just eat too much in general. I seem to want to snack all the time. Certainly something I need to work on. I need to establish whether I am hungry, anxious or bored. I eat when I feel anxious and bored. I must pay closer attention to what I am feeling when I eat.
Also I need to make better food choices. I often opt for what is fast. Like nuts and cheese. Pepperoni, and olives. These all have high salt contents so I imagine that I am eating way too much sodium.
Back to basics and looking for a renewed sense of commitment!!!!
